GeoDCAT-AP 2.0
November 9, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm CET
“The Semantic Interoperability Community (SEMIC) action of the ISA2 programme will hold its very first webinar on GeoDCAT-AP 2.0 taking place on the 9th of November 2020 at 10:00 (CEST Time). During the event, the new version of these specifications will be presented to the GeoDCAT-AP Working Group. Moreover, the issues raised by the community on the dedicated GitHub page will be discussed and solutions proposed.”
“The agenda and the discussion materials/presentations will be published on [the event page] in due time.”
“Context
GeoDCAT-AP is an extension of the application profile DCAT-AP for geospatial data. Its prime use case is to make spatial datasets, dataset series and services searchable in general (open) data portals, thereby making geospatial information better findable across borders and sectors.”
“The extension is mainly based on the agreements in the context of the INSPIRE directive. The aim is to enable Member States to maintain their collections of INSPIRE-relevant datasets according to the INSPIRE Metadata technical guidelines, while at the same time facilitating the publication of these collections on DCAT-AP conformant data portals.”
“GeoDCAT-AP 2.0 is updating this specification in a major way, namely by:
- being a standalone extension of DCAT-AP for geospatial datasets;
- aligning with the recent release of DCAT 2.0 and DCAT-AP 2.0;
- ensuring that mapping and supportive tooling form a canonical implementation for GeoDCAT-AP;
- better supporting the publication of the geospatial information on data portals.
- For a detailed overview of the changes, please visit the dedicated space on GitHub.”
“Public review
In order to ensure that input from the community is properly discussed and integrated, we are welcoming any comments and remarks on this new version of GeoDCAT-AP by the 1st of November on the dedicated GitHub space.”
